Talk about it here.
Jimmie's car wasn't any good after that restart where he messed up the front end, but at Kansas last year and Pocono this year in the 2nd race he had cars even more banged up and still managed top 15's, so she definitely held her own tonight.
It was ridiculous, reminded me of the Indycar "race" yesterday at Baltimore with all that blocking :P
You know it's bad when Brandon tells her to turn him into the wall if he does it again... He is so calm on the radio and he is usually trying to keep her head in the game.
I tried to watch the IndyCar race and the driving was so amateurish... It took them how many re-starts in the middle of the race before they could get a clean one and run a few laps rather than going immediately under caution. Heck Simona wasn't competitive all weekend and she ended up in 5th by being in the right place at the right time...oh yeah plus she blocked TK into the wall to keep her position. Another indication it was a circus was every time I turned over Hinchcliffe was turned around and stopped on the track but somehow he ended up with a top 10...gotta love the endless full course cautions.
I couldn't watch too much because it was so frustrating...so I went back to watching a baseball game between two bad teams. :)
Back home from a really awesome night. Man, I'll tell you...if you haven't seen a NASCAR Cup race live...DO IT! Danica ran strong tonight and held her own. I got to get an autograph from Carl Edwards! Too bad he kinda faded in the race.
I DVR'd the IndyCar race and I'm watching it now. Straight up Amateur Night...
Glad you had a good time at the race, DPX.
21st is a drastic improvement over the first visit. Bit disappointing that Danica lost the "Lucky Dog" battle when she was 19th and in the position to get it on a mid-race restart. That would have avoided the situation of being lapped again and being trapped there; once that happened, progress was impossible. After all, it wasn't a team problem as Ryan ran in the top 10 all night.
Then again, Ricky Stenhouse didn't exactly cover himself in glory by dropping like a rock on the first run and Carl Edwards went down to 18th 1 lap down after being up front for a while.
Hopefully strides forward will be made in Richmond, because her last race there was a complete wash and forgettable.
Maybe Mark will show her how to turn cars so she can move the blockers out of the way.
Mark wouldn't teach anybody to race like that since he doesn't race like that.
Kurt Busch was talking about how he was excited to "show Danica some of his secrets" and things like that....and we all know he's turned a few people in his day.
Qualifying and restarts, that's all I want out of you Kurt Busch :)
