I think Michael is very knowledgeable but with the restructured Andretti organization, I don't see how he can as effectively be her strategist. Because Danica is running in NASCAR and I watch her races with NASCAR friends who have cable. I have become aware of Jimmie Johnson, driver/Chad Knaus, strategist combo that has delivered 4 straight championships to Johnson. It took 3 races in NNS for Danica and Tony Eury Jr to get on the same page. He gave he a car at LV race, before the backmarker took her out, which was laying down lap times commensurate with the leaders and she was moving through the pack. Her Honda Dallara at Barber test was NOT good. She struggled mightily. I hope she and her crew can figure it out or it will be a dismal, painful season. I want her to have every advantage to do well, if for no other reason than to silence all the naysayers and bashers.; ▶ Reply to This

I wish it would have happened right after Motegi, but they only got stronger. So I learned that they will never be silenced no matter what Danica does. I've thrown in the towel.; ▶ Reply to This

I remember when Dario switched over to NASCAR , in his first race , the Daytona 500 , I was able to listen to his in car communications . A yellow came out and his spotter yelled " back off , back off " And Dario's response in his accent was " I know what to do , all you have to say is yellow , yellow " I was thinking , wow , this could be a tough transition !

I think Tony Jr. is a good fit for Danica and the two of them seem to work well together . Their success is dependent on one another and I believe they are both aware of that fact!

On a side note , I wonder if Micheal has given any thought about entering into the NASCAR series like Penske and Ganassi ? He has the driver and the sponsor , plus that would be really cool; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Reggie on March 8, 2010 at 10:18pm: I'm assuming you are talking about Dario's first Sprint Cup race? He ran about 8 Nationwide races and 6 Truck races before that Daytona race. I believe the instance you are talking about was in one of his Nationwide races though, I think it was Phoenix or Homestead. Chip Ganassi actually spotted for him at his initial Daytona 500, so I'm pretty positive Dario wouldn't not have made that comment to him.
