When it comes to Danica, all the talk centers on "when will she crash out" or "how many laps will she be down" and again, the media types write about her because she has a fanbase, but more than anything else they know she's drives conversation, yet those who cover her aren't exactly waving the Danica poms poms and generally seem to enjoy talking about her struggles.

I am too, after all it's just four races into the season and if anybody has been paying attention to Danica's brief NASCAR career they know she usually gets off to slow starts while she/the team figure things out and eventually they do, they run better and get the better finishes.

I am still optimistic about her teams season, considering it's her rookie year. Look at Kasey Kahne's start last season. Not that I expect Danica to recover that well but there will be some good progress and highlights as the season goes on.

By Daytona I was actually referring to the Nationwide races, not the 500. But obviously wasn't clear on that.

But if top 3 picks are the standard then I'm pretty confident there isn't this epidemic of media members with Junior in their top 3 picks for the championship.

That's a one sided view in my opinion. It ignores the tremendous praise Danica gets when she does anything well. And it ignores all of the mocking and criticism that Junior gets from both the media and the fans. The media has treated Danica almost exactly like how they've been treating Junior for the last 15 years.
