Apparently everyone in the blogosphere claims to know exactly what he said. They don't all agree in the least, but they are all certain of their own knowledge.

As usual, the main complaint is that NASCAR is restricting freedom of speech, which only shows how ignorant most of these folks are.

Damon said:

He released a statement on Facebook, but said nothing about what his comment was and Nascar isn't saying either.

Todd Miller said:

Damon, Sorry if I missed something in the article but what was said by Clements?

Why am I not surprised this driver got suspended for running his mouth and allowing foolishness to come out of it

David Newton apparently has a source that indicated Clements used a racial slur, but doesn't give any more context than that.

I just saw the full comment he made about Danica and while it was disgusting and inappropriate I can't imagine they would suspend him over that...  Is female bashing considered racial? I don't think so but of course all of his supporters on twitter think it is about the Danica comments and that NASCAR is protecting Danica.  Some are speculating he said something about Juan Carlos Blum, which would make more sense if it is due to a racial comment.

One thing is becoming clear this guy just this week alone made inappropriate comments about a female competitor (Danica), bashed the sport (Daytona 500), and may also have made an inappropriate racial remark.  This seems to be a pattern and he shouldn't be allowed to return anytime soon.

All the haters are moaning and groaning over Danica's success. It is fun to watch those people get stupid in public.

I want to add my congratulations to Danica on her sterling week at Daytona. Last year's 'Daytona demons' dished out to her a series of disasters few people could survive. Danica walked away with a smile on her face - at least her public face. There is no doubt she made some choice comments in private.

This year our feisty little warrior drove a car set up by a fantastic team; she has a great crew chief, great owners at Stewart Haas and enough experience behind her to run up front - at least in the plate races. Short tracks will still be a big challenge, but her fans will support her through the tough times, too.

Since I'm not a diehard NASCAR follower I had not really noticed until this year's Daytona 500 Cup race how much more professional Cup drivers are than those in Nationwide and ARCA. The Cup series is where training wheels come off the cars and pros run the race. It seems that in Cup races equal parts adrenalin and stupidity are at least modified with experience and smarts. Danica should have less trouble with minor league inexperienced/desperate/dumb drivers wrecking her. Playing in the major league is a big plus for our heroine and her fans, too. Several years ago Danica and her managers made the right decision for her to go full-time Cup in 2013.

(I've mentioned this before, but I still think it is amusing. Some of the situations Danica gets herself into remind me of the old 'Perils of Pauline' movies - for the young folks reading this you can see some of those on YouTube.)

Daytona 2013 was a vindication of her abilities as a driver. Yeah, she will struggle on some of the short tracks, but Danica has proven she is the real deal in the Cup series. ( 'Drivers and Danica... start your engines' ticked me off.)

GoDaddy, Coke, Tissot and her other sponsors hit the advertising jackpot last week. Danica is as good an actress in her ads as she is a driver on the circuit. The Lady is successful wearing many different hats and the haters can't stand it. Waaahhh !!

I'm still looking for his comments.  Any clues out there where I may find them?

Rumors/sources from trackforum insiders are saying it was a racial slure they think against Darrelll Wallace Jr --but nothing in concrete and may never be confirmed.  Course whining about Danica, or accusing Nascar of giving her the Pole thats another story and if thats it--nice to see him suspended.   Either way he is suspended, might send a warning to others to keep their mouths shut as Nascar doesnt believe in free speech if it causes harm to Nascar or its drivers. I cant say I agree entirely but considering the rules they apparently can get away with that and if the drivers dont like it---they can always leave before they are thrown out.
