Yah... we are all with you... don't complain about the car setup, celebrate the crappy finish, rejoice as Danica heads toward 29th instead of 25th and feel the joy of not being last. Yahoo. We are all there with you, happy with mediocre.
It's a 13 point difference from where she is at 28th in points to 26th, I'm not worried about it in the least.
P.S. Now Ragan and Martin have passed Danica in points and she is now in 28th place... after almost the whole year, going backwards is an absolute FAILURE. Somebody on that team better wake up.
Philip I think you are over the top with your ranting about every little detail...but I think it must help you to vent so bring it on. :)
But I'll admit today was the worst I've felt watching Danica race in NASCAR... Tony Gibson just flat out missed it all weekend and gave her something today that she couldn't even compete with the tail end of the field. As she herself said on the radio it was 'Blanken Embarrassing'...
I'm not sure there is anything more to say...it took Tony G about 100+ laps to give her an even halfway competitive car but by then the damage for the overall outcome was done and the later adjustments did absolutely nothing to help the car and in fact hurt the car late in the race.
The funniest thing is her car is the random for inspection...maybe they'll find a mechanical issue. :)
I'm not going to get mad at her team/the team for a tough weekend when Dover hasn't been kind to her yet in stock cars, they haven't found anything there to make her feel comfortable, so you get what you get.
Now these next three races are different and if they don't finish top 20 at Kansas and Charlotte, then you can worry a bit.....I disregard Talladega because of the randomness of it.
Danica's comments about the race: "F*****g embarrassing".
Y'all can get mad at Phillip all you want to. But Danica Patrick herself agrees with him obviously...
Here's the difference, Danica actually has to sit in the car for 3-3 1/2 hours, we don't......if we don't like what we're watching, just watch something else. She doesn't have that luxury.
Me? I was watching a little baseball and football. But stressing out and throwing a hissy hit week after week about it when you have no real say in the ultimate outcome of how the 10 car does on the track is rather pointless.
For what it's worth, I've gotta give Tony Gibson and Danica's spotter Brandon Benesch a lot of credit for not going off on folks on twitter over how they get berated and belittled regarding Danica's races each week.
I know I wouldn't have the same patience.
Last two 1.5 mile ovals - Atlanta and Chicago
Martin (in the 14 car) 28 avg. start / 21.0 avg. finish
Danica- 22 avg. start/ 20.5 avg. finish
I have little hope that next week's race in Kansas will be any better for Danica, but Martin & Newman have a lot of experience on 1.5 mile tracks and will hold their own.
Chicago was two races ago, still a 1.5 mile oval.....they'll be okay the next two weeks.
Well, the car was rough this week... although that said this year D and the chief have both been a little quick to fall on the sword and take the blame for everything. Both of you do better next week. :-P <3
...not to mention juvenile.
