Here is your thread for the Nationwide debut. I'll start featuring these threads each week, that way they are easier to find. Also, here is your TV info for the weekend, everything airs on ESPN2 and ESPN2HD:

Practice - Thursday Feb. 11 Noon
Qualifying - Friday Feb. 12 3pm
Race - Saturday Feb. 13 1pm

The schedule I have says that the Sprint Cup practice is Wednesday at 3, Nationwide is at noon. If I get different info from the Speedway, I will update you.; ▶ Reply to This

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -Danica Patrick has taken the next step in her stock car racing education, staying out of trouble and learning as much as she can in her first NASCAR Nationwide series practice at Daytona International Speedway.

Patrick's crew chief, Tony Eury Jr., says she was comfortable in the car Wednesday and did a good job handling the jump from ARCA to Nationwide. After finishing sixth in the Daytona ARCA race on Saturday, Patrick is preparing to make her Nationwide race debut Saturday.

Patrick finished 26th on the speed chart. Eury said practice speeds aren't particularly important at Daytona because they don't indicate how fast the car will be in the race.; ▶ Reply to This

Permalink Reply by Cerberus on February 12, 2010 at 7:16pm: Number one thing: she will have to run much closer in the packs than what she did in practice. She said she was taking it easy, not really getting runs on anybody even when there was the opportunity to do that.
Number two: she also has to understand that before making a move, be it high or low, she needs to get to the rear of the car ahead. Of course she has 5 years of IndyCar in her eyes, where everything happens faster, where as soon as you reach the 2 car lenghts point, it's time to make the pass. Now she has to wait until the very last moment. I think it's more difficult to slow down your mind rather than speed it up.; ▶ Reply to This
