Discuss the Michigan race here.
My apologies for getting this topic started late. Life catches up and all that....
It's all good.

I can't complain about Tony G's use of practice time this weekend... The #10 team was among the top cars in laps ran in all three practice sessions. In addition to running a lot of laps they were in the ballpark on speed. They still don't have top 10 speed but definitely noticeable improvement this weekend. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come for the upcoming weeks and all the testing time they've been putting in is starting to pay off.
I'd like to see a solid race and a top 20 finish to start building some momentum for the end of the year.
Finishing 16-20 would be okay, but another top 15 here is what I'm hoping for
I see that Danica is one of the voted in RaceBuddy cars again this weekend.... if they keep letting the fans vote for who is on RaceBuddy, she should be on there all the time.
Nice start, up to 22nd on Newman's bumper. Perhaps this bodes well for the rest of the race.
Well, with RaceBuddy is is pretty obvious why Danica runs where she runs... I watched as car after car slowly came up to her and then dived to the bottom in the corner and then slid up in front of her and she basically let them. I have not seen her try that yet... which is why she can run around the same times as the 5 - 7 cars ahead of her but not pass them. And on this track, position is everything... she will not advance until she starts trying to do those things... instead of running around the track and not getting into tight or close situations.
She has the speed, just not the experience and if she wants the experience of passing she has to try doing it in these circumstances.
I just watched her stay on the bottom in straight instead of coming up in front of car she passed and that let two guys go past her on top in the next corner.... rookie mistake. Hope she learns fast.
Yahoo... now I see her finally get aggressive and made it 3 wide and just passed the two cars that took advantage of her a few laps before. I guess I will just have to be as patient as she is and let it come as it comes.
(still want her to pass a lot of cars and move up)
Boy.... with RaceBuddy you sure can pick up on a lot of things...
Danica is almost as fast or as fast as the top drivers in the straight... even pulls away from them sometimes.. and then comes the corner.... ALL the experienced drivers can get around her in the corners... they dive down and then drive thru the corner and slid up in front of her and she has no choice but to back off a bit and let them and then loses some momentum and position. Tony Stewart, where are you? How about some teaching lessons or help on this... she holds her own in the straight but has not mastered the corners... and considering all the races have corners... this is important for her to learn to do a lot better.
That last restart after Ricky wall hit is exactly why she runs toward the back... Clint Bowyer was on the outside and instead of pushing the issue on the inside, she let him cut her off and then dropped at least 5 positions to dolts and dorks that she is running faster than. If she keeps giving up these positions like this, then she deserves to run in the back.
Race Buddy cuts out the bull crap and she lets too many guys get away with too many things and she has no right to complain about them because she lets them do it and not pay any price for it.
Not sure I agree with the strategy decision under the yellow. Should have taken the wave-around along with the other lapped cars (Dillon etc).
