2nd practice over, qualifying starts in about 25 minutes, quick practice 2 rundown:

Ganassi 1-2 at the top of the charts with Dixon and Franchiti, Danica in P3, Briscoe 4th, Moraes 5th, Rahal 6th and Helio 8th, but unlike the first practice where only two drivers reached 200 mph, six drivers topped 200 mph.


AGR Update: Danica still over 1 mph ahead of Marco 12th, Tony 16th and Hideki 17th, which is really confusing in some sense, but because TK tweeted that he'd be making the same changes as DP. Hope they find something for his car that suits him.

Danica Patrick, #7 Boost Mobile/Motorola Dallara/Honda/Firestone: "We're here to win so I'm a little disappointed with where we qualified. On my third lap, instead of downshifting to fifth gear, the car went all the way down to fourth. I'm not sure if it did it by accident or if it was an electrical problem, but I'm sure that affected my last lap. The car has been pretty good. Eddie (Jones), my engineer, has done a great job and we were really strong in the last practice session before qualifying and made great progress. The entire #7 crew has been working hard and I think we'll be okay for the race."

I ask again against my better judgement: What happened to the speed of the AGR cars?

DANICA PATRICK (No. 7 Boost Mobile/Motorola, finished sixth): "The No. 7 car was strong all day; unfortunately it just wasn't strong enough to defend my win from last year. We could have had a run on Mario (Moraes) but I got caught in traffic and just wasn't able to gain the position. Overall it was a good day and a solid finish for us."

A less than stellar day in the pits. Danica lost two positions to Servia and Rahal in the second stop, and the 5th place to Moraes in the final one under caution. Rahal probably was out of reach, I don't think the track position ahead of him would have lasted all the way to the checkered, but that's not the case for Servia and Moraes, especially the brazilian.

It has to be frustrating as hell for Danica to be scratching to just hold onto 5th place in the standings.. Right now, the racing is boring deluxe and the only thing that keeps me interested is seeing how well Danica can do but unless Michael steps it up for all aspects of the #7 team, it's going to be a looooooooooooong hard 2010 season, watching the red teams play follow the leader race after race, with crumbs occasionally going to other drivers/teams.

She did what was within reach, congrats. Not our fault that other teams have evolved, while AGR decreased.

plain and simple, drivers 3 laps down need to get out of the way! i new on that last restart, the drivers in the 3, 4, 5, spot were doomed, target took off and were gone with lapped traffic playing defence to the 3,4 and 5. sad. nice to see the "old Danica" back giving special ed the number 1 sign for his 3 lap down charge at the end...

that race stunk...sorry to disappoint everyone...danica can be mad. if she would have got to me i would have let her go
