This weekend will be a really good indication of the progress Danica has made...  Phoenix may be her worst track since she joined Nascar.  In 4 starts her best finish is 17th and she has never ran a lap in the top 15.  She just hasn't figured out this track but I think she'll see significant improvement this weekend.  :) 

2010 Fall NNS Race --- Start 28th / Finish 32nd (7 laps down) -- 46.5 Driver Rating

2011 Spring NNS Race --- Start 20th / Finish 17th (3 laps down) -- 68.2 Driver Rating

2011 Fall NNS Race --- Start 25th / Finish 21st (4 laps down) -- 53.3 Driver Rating (caught up in a first lap accident)

2012 Spring NNS Race --- Start 30th / Finish 21st (3 laps down) -- 62.1 Driver Rating

Weird first Nationwide practice, several incidents involving a bunch of guys who were in over their head spinning out/getting in peoples way. Danica was 18th on the speed chart, about six tenths off Kasey Kahne, who was fastest in that practice.

Danica will start 37th in the Cup race on Sunday, curious to see how Cup practice goes tomorrow and what kinds of improvements they can make for raceday.

I've really enjoyed Brant James articles on Danica this year.  I really like the variety of subjects related to Danica that he has covered this year, they have been well researched and written.

It is intriguing that she didn't want the specifics of her training program divulged...

Amazing to think how far she's come on short tracks when she qualifies 14th, a best ever for her in the Nationwide car at Phoenix and felt she left a little on the table.

That had to be the best short track race she has run and possibly the best race she has run so far. If she had not gotten (I am going to say it) screwed by all the outside restarts, she might have been a top 5 car. Even with the outside restarts, she still managed to drive up there and those inside moves on the green-white-checker were great. She almost got Keslowski there but we have to also keep in mind that there were quite a few Cup guys in this race and she still finished where she did. I sure hope they are able to put together that 10 - 12 race package for Nationwide next year because the added laps and the experience of racing both cars on a weekend obviously helps.

Great race for Danica. And I don't want to forget that the team did a great job too... car setup and pits.

Good going, girl. I think we can finally all see the progress Danica has made. She is driving with more confidence and acumen. She really needs to work on restarts and she will have the whole package.
