Yes, Tony Stewart did from 1996-1998, although the IRL didn't have nearly as many races then as it does now and Sam Hornish Jr. did as well in 2007

Thanks Damon,
With your help I was able to Google each driver for those years and learned a lot.It's a difficult transition and it looks like Tony Stewart tried a little of everything.In many ways it has to be helpful overall for a driver , but like this week for Danica , going back and forth has to be at least somewhat distracting. I remember reading somewhere it was Sam Hornish who suggested a little of both first , he would know. Thanks again , all good stuff!.
