Last year in Montreal, Danica earned a ton of respect for her performance there; no one thought she would be able to slam her car around the way she did. Sure, she finished 24th, but that was not at all indicative of the day she had. She started 25th, and raced her way up to 8th. Boiling brake fluid put her in the back of the field, and she raced her way back to 13th, with four laps to go. With two laps to go, she wheel hopped it and her teammate Ron Fellows clipped her right rear, breaking her axle. Quite the day, and a very successful one - except for the finish position. She did manage to finish on the lead lap, in spite of it all.
Oh, and she drove the last half of the race with ice bags crammed down the front of her firesuit.

Permalink Reply by DanicaPowerX on June 20, 2012 at 12:46am Danica could end up being a road-ringer in the future. For some reason she is really good on the road and street courses. Interestingly enough, many people believe that she could have been a monster on the road/street courses back in IndyCar too had it not been for all those ChampCar guys coming over and her small frame giving her a disadvantage in a spec-race field.
Permalink Reply by DanicaFans on June 21, 2012 at 12:32pm Actually, the qualifying for road courses was her biggest problem in IndyCar. She actually did pretty good in the races.

This is the american SPA FRANCORCHAMPS. Is rare that DANICA has a good result in the circuits because this kind of tracks always have been a headache for her.

Permalink Reply by DanicaFans on June 22, 2012 at 11:30pm Today's practice was quite impressive.
In the first session, she started off slow, getting a feel for the track and her car. She worked her way up to a good fastest lap.
The second session was what stood out. She had the seventh fastest time, but more importantly, her average lap time was almost equal to her fastest lap time. She was extremely consistent.
