Permalink Reply by David Williams on November 5, 2012 at 12:54pm Thanks, Becky. I didn't see that press conference. It's really ridiculous, since there was visual proof that she was not blocking him at all that I could see. I must say, Keselowski has always seemed like a smart-ass to me, just from experiencing his facial expressions and the sound of his voice. I do hope he doesn't win the championship. I really wanted Eliot Sadler to win.

Yeah...but in his post-race press conference he made a comment about not getting any help from the car in front. So while he took blame on the slide through he still tried to deflect back to Danica later.
David Williams said:Actually, he did take responsibility for that last one.
Becky said:Agreed... The announcers kept saying it but none of the videos really showed it. Yes, on the one pit stop he had to crank his wheel to hard right but he had lots of room and that didn't slow him down. Then the pit stop where he slid through his stall...that's definitely all on him. But I guess when the great Keselowski or 2 team makes a mistake it must be the rookie's fault.
David Williams said:.... if Keselowski's team or fans thinks she caused him any problems in the pits they are delusional. Even the one they complained about her stopping short...Keselowski had plenty of room to get out.
Fans think she caused him problems in the pits because the announcers said she did, more than once, even though the only video they showed meant to prove it showed the opposite: Danica in her pit box where she was supposed to be, with acres of room for Brad to get out of his. If they ever showed video that backed up what they were saying, I didn't see it.
Permalink Reply by David Williams on November 5, 2012 at 1:01pm I hate to see the season end because it means no more road course races, no more Road America or Montreal. Not only are they races I think she could win next time out, but to me they are the most pleasurable races to watch, because the course runs through such beautiful surroundings and because the diversity of corners and turns sort of puts the ovals in the shade, so to speak -- makes them seem to me boring by comparison.

I'm just sitting back here having a blast. She is so much fun for me to watch her progress through the ranks. At first in NW races it was finishes in the 30's, then 20's, now pretty consistantly in the low teens. Then in Cup finishes in the 30's, now in the 20's and it all just keeps getting better. I just hate to see the season nearing its end. This is too much fun ! GOOOO....Little D !
Permalink Reply by BudmaninTx on November 5, 2012 at 4:18pm One of the more gratifying aspects of watching her progression is its gradual enough that the haters seem to be clueless at what is actually happening. Its really, really funny.

Regarding the Blocking Brad incident, there is none. There is NO media claiming she blocked him and on Race Hub they even said HE slid too far and had to back up--period. Is this a fan site for her or a whinny site for her so called fans to complain about every little thing instead of just ignoring things like this that most others are doing when its nothing anyway--GRow up.
If whinny Brad is saying this on social media --so what--he IS just a whiny big mouth anyway and most arent going to pay him any attention that watched the race and know better.. He was bragging about having 300,000 twitter followers and thats funny as Danica has over twice that many and has had for yrs so he is nothing compared to her popularity--give it a rest. This has turned into a downer site far as Iam concerned and why i havent been here much and wont be--Good Grief--try and be positive for a change... Danica ran 2 good races this weekend--period.

Permalink Reply by Becky on November 5, 2012 at 9:45pm I agree with this... I think the issue is she is being a bit conservative and not wanting to throw away a good finish by a dumb move in the late stages of the race thus costing herself spots. After Kansas, I don't think she was going to put herself in a position to tear up the car if she could avoid it...
In yesterday's race, the second to last restart she had no choice but to check up because Denny (who was in her lane) was sideways and there was nowhere for her to go and she couldn't get down in time to get around him because the cars kept filling the lower lane (so the spots lost on that one are just bad luck). I'm not sure what happened on the last restart because they really didn't show it but she was unhappy with herself so I'm guessing she just didn't get going.
I think she'll continue to struggle with restarts because there really isn't anyway to practice them and especially the intensity of the late race restarts. Heck you see the well established guys struggle with restarts at times.

My perception is that Danica is getting much stronger on certain types of restarts. But she still seems to struggle on the restarts at the end of the race where everything gets amped up to the next level. That is where she should take pointers from whoever is willing to give them to her. I wish she didn't lose those 4 spots at the end but all in all I feel this was a strong Cup race for her. Keep adding to the learning and she will keep getting better and better.

Permalink Reply by David Williams on November 10, 2012 at 2:27pm Personally, I like the practice in use decades ago when each team used the same color scheme year after year. It created a tradition, so that a color scheme was identified with a particular entity -- British racing green for instance, which Lotus wears on the IndyCar track here even now -- and you did not have scramble during a race to find which car was which and where your favorite driver was.
