At Today's Atlanta Carl Edwards intentionally wrecked Brad Keslowswki causing his car to flip over and land on its roof.  NASCAR parked him for the duration of the race.  Carl's upset with Brad for other racing incidents between the two.

What do you think NASCAR should/will do?  Do you think he'll get fined, have points taken away or suspended?

I understand why Carl is frustrated but it's dangerous to wreck someone and cause their car to flip over on the track.

What they should do- suspend him for a race and not allow the 99 to compete at Bristol.........with anybody.

What they will do - Heavy fine, probation.

I've heard rumors of a multi-race suspension, but the most likely option is what Damon said, heavy fine and probation. They may let him run but won't count his points, I heard a rumor of that happening as well.

More I think about it, I say they need to definitely fine him, somewhere in the neighborhood of $100K and put him on probation for the remainder of the 2010 season. Also, dock him his points from Atlanta, based on his finishing position, it's not a lot of points, but may make a huge difference when it comes time for the Chase. I think they need to go a step further though, don't suspend him for Bristol, let him compete, but don't count the points. The sponsors put out their money for a certain amount of races, they shouldn't have to lose that from their marketing/advertising budget based on his disregard for his fellow drivers and fans.

If this was Tony Stewart they wouldn't do a thing, so why should Carl get punished?

3 week probation for Carl and nothing else.....in other words, "thanks for getting us some much needed pub this week" and remember what they say, "any pub is good pub".

I'm sure the ratings will be up for Bristol in 2 weeks to see what's going to happen with Brad and if he goes after Carl or if those two will end up wrecking somebody else/starting a whole new fued.

Question, is it 3 weeks or 3 races? If it's 3 weeks then that only applies to two races, being that there is no Sprint Cup race this weekend. If that is the case, it only applies to Bristol (March 21) and Martinsville (March 28). If we are talking 3 races, then it will also include Phoenix on April 10

Also, does this probation apply to his Nationwide entries as well?

This is not even a slap on the wrist for Carl. He lost, at most, 3 points when NASCAR parked him on Sunday, he was already 156 laps down. I think he knew that they woudln't really punish him and he'll be free to intentionally wreck again by the Texas race at the latest.

This is ridiculous. I really hope Danica takes the blatant disregard for safety under consideration before she decides to make a full time switch.

3 races probation, not 3 weeks and I don't know if it applies to Nationwide, but I'm guessing it would if he crosses the line and wrecks somebody intentionally again.

The guy is a loose cannon, totally out of control. He has already hurt 7 people with his on-track antics. How many more are they going to allow him to hurt (or worse) before they sit him down? He has no business in a race car if he can't control his emotions any better than that.

I'm hearing it does not apply to Nationwide.

The other day on ESPN news they showed a clip of a college basketball player who got so mad at one of the opponents she punched her in the face during the game. She was thrown out for the rest of the year.

In my mind intentionally wrecking a car race should be considered a violent act towards a competetor.

Carl's punishment is a joke and sends a bad message. NASCAR is going to let the drivers police themselves and they shouldn't.
